Wedding Stationery – The process
It’s easy if you follow the steps..
So your big day approaches, in amongst everything that has to be done, you need to get all the Stationery done. This is not as daunting as it may seem but can be a really difficult task if you don’t plan it properly, and leave it too late. The later you leave this, the more difficult and stressful it will be. Depending on your requirements, we can get you wedding stationery for much less that you think.
Here is a Guide on how to get this done quickly and easily.
- Start to create your guest list, and have this list in something like Google Sheets. Place both the name and surname in the same cell and check the spelling.
- Decide what Stationery you will need, this can be extensive, and we can print almost anything for you. Some examples are – and there are many more!!!
- Engagement cards
- Save the date cards
- The invitation and envelope (Envelopes can be tricky!!)
- RSVP cards
- Bridal shower cards
- Wishing well cards
- Bellyband cards
- Welcome sign
- Order of Service
- Menu’s
- Table numbers
- Place cards or Tent stands
- Seating chart (this is usually a foam board, and can be any size you want.)
- Motivational signs or quotes
- Signing Book
- Wishing well sign
- Thank you cards
So you can do almost anything you want to enhance your special day. There are tons of great wedding sites on the net, have a look and find out what you want.
Decide what you want, and create a list of your requirements.
Budget and timeline
Your budget is obviously very important, some card stocks can be extremely expensive, as can foil printing, which can also take a long time, so instead of foil, we always suggest printing with our Gold/Silver/White or clear inks. The more complex you make your designs and the more specialty paper and embellishments you are after, the more you are going to spend.
Your time v My time. This will make a big difference to your budget. The more you keep things standard, the more money you will save. If you want die cut cards, very special stocks and embellishments, these will all add to your costs.
Timeline.. this is easy, the longer the better. Some processes take a long time, and others are quick, but if you leave things to late, you add stress to the process and to yourself.
What paper to use?
This is a really difficult question, there are literally thousands of different types of paper to choose from, and the paper you choose has to be able to go through our printer. We keep standard, white card stocks, and some metallic stocks in our factory, which you are welcome to come and look at, but please call Guy on 0421 840 465 to make an appointment.
Generally, we can print on most stocks but will need to test your stock. We will only do tests on your stocks once you have placed your order for your stationery.
You should decide on a theme and stick to it.
Design
This is easier than it looks. Have a look at all the popular websites, like https://www.etsy.com/au/ and Pinterest. Another way to get your designs going is to simply Google “wedding invitations”, and scroll through the pictures. Find one you like, save the picture, and upload it to our website, and we will then make something similar. Again, it is important to decide on a theme, fonts, colours, etc.
When you go to the quote request form, you will see there is a block where you can upload a file of a design that you like, do this, as it will direct us as to what you are after.
Complete the form
We only really need some of the basics from you to be able to start your project. Go to this form.
Once you have filled in the form, and be sure to add your comments in the ‘Any Additional Information”, submit the form, and Guy will call you back to discuss your project and start to work out a quote for you.
